Close to the spanish border, l’Ariège. A brownstone castle sitting on top of a rock, overlooking a quiet remote town, at the foot of the Pyrénées mountains. Warm december southern sunlight. Marketplace. Stuck between the prison and the cemetary, a gigantic theater looking like a concrete electrical power station: La Scène Nationale. Inside, it’s a beautiful, high, deep auditorium, concrete structure, red fabric, pivoting wooden panels. Labyrinthine backstage areas. It’s a sold-out show and people (some of them german and british…) drove in from Toulouse and from the surrounding mountains.
Moriarty on tour: Théâtre de l’Estive, Foix 13.12.2014.
