Leaving Montreal, a bus drive through the wide Canadian landscape, endless industries and iron bridges, low skies, hills and mountains and rain and lonesome gas-stations… We reach Sherbrooke and the wonderful théâtre Granada, looking magical kind of like the Club Silencio from Mulholland Drive. People are sitting around tables in darkness, their faces dimly lit by candles like some sorts of fireflies. Our show is too short, only 30 minutes to connect with the Sherbrookians, but that’s part of the game. It’s the 4th of July, so we end the gig with « Belle », an old traditional song from Louisiana, remembering that « a cajun » is « acadian », connecting the Southern U.S. and Québec.
Moriarty on tour, opening for Little Scream & Plants and Animals, Théâtre Granada, Sherbrooke, Quebec, July 4th 2012.
